Seahawks Hire Tom Cable

Just a few minutes ago Adam Schefter tweeted that the Seahawks had hired Tom Cable as assistant head coach/offensive line coach and Todd Wash was hired as defensive line coach.

Tom Cable Seahawks

Tom Cable and Pete Carroll will be shaking hands a lot more this season

Personally, I love these hires. Tom Cable was doing some very good things as head coach of the Raiders and I have no idea why Al Davis got rid of him. He will bring an attitude and toughness to this team and hopefully the O-line can develop some swagger and toughness. I also think he will fit well with BeastMode Marshawn Lynch. Cable was doing a good job making the Raiders relevant again and he had the team headed in the right direction. This also could give the Seahawks the inside track to getting Nnamdi Asomough and Robert Gallery from the Raiders this off-season which would be nice additions.

Todd Wash was the D-line coach for Tampa for the last 4 years and he had a group of nobodys playing very well this year.

This is all on the heels of Jeremy Bates being let go. I think this was the right move. Way, way too many 3 and outs this year. Some of that can be blamed on the players but I also think the playcalling and scheme had a lot to do with it. There was some speculation that Josh McDaniels would be the new OC but he went with the Rams. It will be very interesting to see who they end up with as the offensive coordinator.
