Percy Harvin Seahawks Jerseys

In the past finding a good selection of Seattle Seahawks jerseys online has been tough. Since they are generally a forgotten team in this league the jersey manufacturers were not exactly tripping over themselves to put out new Seahawks jerseys.

That all changed last April when the new Seahawks jerseys were released. Seattle was Nike’s guinea pigs with the new designs and I gotta say they hit a home run. I am gonna go out on a limb and say more Seattle Seahawks jerseys were sold last year than in any previous year. And this year? With all the excitement building around the Seattle Seahawks? I am guessing we will see even more sold this year.

My guess is Russell Wilson will sell more jerseys this year than any Seahawk in any previous year. He fits the mold of a jersey seller. He is a QB, he is a great player, he is a winner, and he is a “good guy” that people like. His jersey will sell with casual fans and diehards alike. Marshawn Lynch is a fan favorite, Richard Sherman is getting a lot of media exposure, and young players like Bobby Wagner are gaining steam. Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor are also gonna be hot sellers.

Big name free agents are almost always good sellers and Nike already has his jersey ready for sale through the NFL Shop. He is a name most football fans across the country will recognize and is a game changing player. Percy Harvin also played for the Florida Gators who have a huge national following. With all due respect to Sidney Rice, Golden Tate, and Doug Baldwin who I think are great players and I love having on the team it seems like Percy Harvin will be the receiver who will get the attention. Top receivers are always good jersey sellers.

Percy Harvin should be one of the top 5 Seahawks jerseys this year and maybe even top 3. I know he is on my short list of jerseys to buy this year and the excitement he has already brought to the 12th Man has my expectations through the roof. Add in Cliff Avrill and Michael Bennett (my top 2 defensive ends in free agency) and this will be an awesome season for the Seahawks.

Go buy your Seahawks jersey today. Whether it is Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman, or Percy Harvin lets cover this nation with Seahawks Blue!

We all know how awesome last season was. The excitement that Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Pete Carroll, and the rest of the Seahawks brought to the 12th Man was like nothing we had ever seen before. Going into this offseason the expectations were sky high for this Seahawks team but after just a couple days of free agency they are even higher.

Shop for Official Percy Harvin Seattle Seahawks Jerseys at NFLShop.comLanding a dynamic offensive player like Percy Harvin will make this one of the scariest offenses in the league. How do you prepare for a running back like Marshawn Lynch, a QB like Wilson, and a playmaker like Harvin all at the same time? And that isn’t even thinking about Tate, Rice, and Miller. Every play you will have 6 different offensive weapons that all bring their own unique skills to the play. Imagine a 2nd and 6 – Wilson is under center with Lynch behind as a tailback and Harvin as an H-back. Wilson turns and does a play fake to Marshawn with Harvin leaking out towards the flat. Both safetys will be dead at that point. If one doesn’t come up to cover Harvin we could see quick dump to him. If the safetys do come up that leaves a wide open seam for Miller. If a CB cheats to cover the middle Wilson can hit Rice streaking down the sideline. And don’t forget the threat of Wilson just tucking the ball and running. So very scary and so very awesome.

With Chris Clemons tearing up his knee on the terrible field in Washington we all knew Seattle would do something to improve the pass rush. When the lists of available free agents came out Cliff Avrill was a name that stood out to me. He is a fairly consistent 10 sack guy for the past few seasons but isn’t a one trick pony and can also hold up against the run. All in all he has a pretty similar skill set and resume to Clemons. With Avrill, Clemons (when he can get back from the injury) and Irvin on the ends of the D-line I think Seattle has plenty of outside pressure on the roster.

Seattle will still need to look at D-tackles both to stuff the run and to get some interior pressure and it is never a bad thing to have more options on the O-line but overall I would be very, very confident for this team to take the field as is. There aren’t any pressing “needs” in the draft right now so Seattle can be as creative as they want to be with trades, drafting the best player available, and as always unearthing some gems in the late rounds of the draft.

What is the ceiling on this team? I really have no idea. Of course it is easy to say they are among the favorites for the Super Bowl this year but we could be looking at an all time great team. In some ways it is scary entering a season where just making the playoffs would be a disappointment. This team has the potential to do something very special. Fine, I will get the jinx out of the way and mention an undefeated season, record setting defense, and an offense that just makes opponents look stupid while they are trying to cover everyone.

Get ready 12s. We are in for an awesome ride for the next few years.

          Seahawks Playoff Odds

One thing I love about football and sports in general is the applied mathematics involved. Percentages, probabilities, averages, and all that come into play. I am by no means a math genius but I do like crunching numbers and seeing how they play out.

That is one reason I like looking at sites like Football Outsiders. They just updated their 2012 DVOA Playoff Odds Report. They run a season 50,000 times based on current weighted DVOA ratings and they spit out some results.

Right now the Seahawks are pretty much a lock to make the playoffs with a 93% chance. A crazy series of events would have to take place for Seattle to miss out on the playoffs this year. But if you start looking for bigger things from Seattle that is where it gets interesting.

Seattle has a 30.5% chance of winning the division right now. The most realistic way for this to happen of course is Seattle beats Buffalo and New England beats SF this weekend. Then Seattle bests SF at home on the 23rd and beats the Rams on the 30th. NE is favored this weekend and Seattle should be favored against Buffalo and St. Louis so it will pretty much come down to the game on the 23rd.

The Seahawks also have a 1.8% chance at the #1 seed. In order for this to happen we need to win out, Atlanta needs to lose their next 3, and GB needs to lose one more.  ATL faces Detroit, NY Giants, and TB. Green Bay has Chicago, Tennessee, and Minnesota. Very improbable but Atlanta is the worst 11-2 team I have ever seen and none of the teams they are playing are pushovers. So it could happen.

But will we be happy with a #1 seed? No way!!! I want a Lombardi trophy. And looking at playoff scenarios Football Outsiders has Seattle as the 4th most likely team to win the Super Bowl! New England is at 24%, Denver is at 14.6%, SF is at 13.3%, and Seattle is at 11.9%. I will take those odds all day.

And because it is 12-12-12 here is a list of 12 stadiums where the #12 is retired. Of course Seattle is on the list and the Seahawks will need the 12th Man in full effect when the Niners and Rams come to down.

            On to the Super Bowl!!!

And just for fun there is this video. Never have more true words been spoken:
